I posted here looking for a house. I got it yes but after much travel to different locations. The online market places in Kenya only got big money houses. I wish to introduce a place where one will easily get a house from a bedsitter to a warehouse. Houses for sale/let only.

Enjoy.

We are uploading the site in the production server today. And will change some things in coming days. It is ready for use though. Feel welcome to post your units.
All services are free and will remain so. Though we might charge for the featured section in future. There are only two ad sections and no more ads spaces will be added in future.

Your site is a sad joke ...with cell phone contacts like 33333333333 and a house states a post date of 41 years ago.
My advice to you is not bring stuff here that is not finished yet!!!

@quicksand Thanks for taking a look. I appreciate you comment but wish you noted that the site was being uploaded the exact time I posted here. Its now clean. Such numbers and timestamp are common errors in tests.

Its now open and welcoming anyone with any house to sell/ let.

I stated that I'll keep improving the site with time. I welcome anyone with a suggestion/ reporting some broken logic.

The power of this site is in the management of your houses. Try a simple username/password and post some dummy houses....

@richdad ... Good luck with your site.
If you want traffic to your site I suggest you add some more functionality to it as opposed to being a dealfish which already has all the info you are trying to replicate. My suggestion is to get people to put up the rent they pay for their houses in different areas of the city and this should appear in a google map. The map should ideally aggregate the rent from surroundings and show it as a cost.
It will be a lot of work but it is useful to houseowners and house renter. For example if I stay in imara daima I can locate my house on google maps and post my rent and add issues from a drop down menu. Eg water, traffic, etc! For a start you can populate this info yourself and see how it goes.

Now back to your current site. You need to populate it since it is not of any use without info. Before you get traffic going to populate your site just do it yourself with information from the newspaper and you can probably do this for a few weeks as the data becomes rich and traffic increases.

Good luck!

There are tens of other such kenyan sites at the moment.

what's your strategy, if any, to ensure that i'll visit your site and not the others ?

Thank you for taking time to write the review and give the valuable suggestions. I have plans on populating it but for now, I wish to test for a week or so before rolling out with actual houses.
@subzero
I was taught (when i was very small) that "they do not finish grass for each other" so let them eat. Mine is a genuine effort to enable people get and have their houses found. Got plans to support the initiative and drive traffic. Making cash out of it is not a big concern for now.
@madollar
I agree, the guys from the south are all over. If we do not watch out, the Kenyan "success" may not be truly ours.

The marketing plan is in place. More features will come as we officially launch and during the operations depending on different usability tests being performed and the much valued user feedback.

Today I just uploaded the discussion section where individuals can anonymously comment of a house listing. The comments will be moderated by the site admin and not the house owner/contact person.

@richdad I like your attitude to the whole project. However seriously think of what @tonystark has said above. Try to be different. Get a niche or something but offer what the others are not offering. An example, some years back when I left college and could barely afford rent for a good house I would have paid for a website where I could get genuine landlords and or tenants whom I could co-rent with.

On the discussion platform I would wager that it wont go anywhere unless you play it for sometime - get like three people, pay them and let them have different handles and carry out 'discussion' on your board for at least a year and you may yet have a community. Otherwise it would go nowhere fast.
