What are you guys talking about? City is dopping points at Anfield this Sato - the Kop only know how to produce in big team matches...and we'll be there waiting to pick up the piecessmile

Yet some two more simple tap-ins into unguarded net from RVP.

Am happy with the backlash because it means the message has sank into somebody's nerves.

@hoodrat........How did you see that second goal? Where was the keeper and the defence? Wasn't the net unguarded?

@ Smano, City might get something out of the L'pool match what i'm sure of is whether Mansita can get anything against the magpies. Here's an article from a Mansita fan

BACK TO BASICS OR SIMPLY NOT GOOD ENOUGH?

"It’s an interesting question to ponder. Since that game against Manchester City, United have gone on a winning streak that would usually be accompanied by a chorus of praise from the fans and the media. Five wins, eight goals scored and none conceded, but no one seems convinced. Around the club, and amongst some fans, this run is talked about as, “getting back to basics”. I’m not exactly sure what “basics” are in a football sense, but it seems to be playing uninspiring football, against mediocre opposition, and snatching scrappy 1-0 wins for the most part.

I am not going to deny that I, personally, would rather have the points without the grand performances than the other way around, but there is no denying that United have to improve if they are going to take out a second consecutive Premier League title. Early days or not, Manchester City are building a big lead at the top of the table, and they don’t look like they have the same problems that eventually turned Chelsea’s form last season. City don’t suffer from the problem of having a core to the squad that is too old and they certainly don’t suffer from a lack of depth, even if Mancini wants to bring in even more players to the club. Time will tell if City will eventually see an end to their magnificent run of form, but frankly, United’s level of performances over the last few week has me doubting that United will still be “only” five points off the pace when that happens."

@Taz, am in agreement with the feelings of the writer but this is football - stranger things have happened. The thing about Man Utd is we know how to win, eventually we'll get back our act together. To play they way we are playing and still win speaks volumes - let us be tested at home by the Magpies...I'll give my verdict then

The Title was won last season in a similar way mainly due to the fact that Arsenal and Chelsea who were at some time in February one point below United with a game in hand did not take their chances well and let United eventually win. I do not think it will be so this time with the emergence of City and the good form Arsenal are having. If they continue playing like that they may pay by loosing to some relegation fodder who are battling to survive the league towards the and of the season and those points that they will drop with eventuality cost them the title!
The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.
