Ati they are still to decide whether to drill a hole/underground or to build an overpass across mombasa road to JKIA.It will cost 3.6 billion for underground while an overpass will cost kindu 1.6 billion.

Now with proximity to Mombasa road of the Sio Kamau station how will they achieve this?

If this project works, it will ease the pressure on the roads to a great extent, but it seems very ambitious!

If only development was measured by the number of castles you have built in the air, we are very good at it.

Has the government gone on a spending spree to the extent they have become irrational and impatient.

Building all these castles is a one time job, maintaining them is a life time job. I fail to see how the issue of sustainability is addressed in all this "growth" related projects.

Hmmm...sounds like a viable argument that would explain why all these projects are mushrooming all over the place.

While there's nothing wrong with development, there are concerns that someone is forcing the economy to bite more than it can digest.

just because we own cars and never boarded a commuter train we should not be trashing genuine efforts targeted at others. Have you ever seen the Town-Dandora commuter train at peak hours? That is a death ride. So get off ur high horses!!

Okeeey, I see what you meant...actually it seems you have misunderstood the tone of the message here.

We are not saying that there should be no good roads and railways, those should have been there like yesterday. Just for your information, I still use PSVs.

What I'm advocating for is reasonable investments that can be sustained and hopefully developed organically.

In some sense, having a railway line going to JKIA (among other projects) may not be the most urgent thing to fix in Kenya.

I do encourage you to read my blog post on vision2030. In the blog post, I express my concerns with this top->down style of development.

Am surprised many you have notice noticed that the policies of Narc and Coalition governments have been skewed towards elites in the society and some region North of Nairobi.

They have envisioned to give the whites a superhighway from JKIA to Gigiri whereas Wanjiku has no food on the table.

Why not upgrade the existing rails from Ruiru through Githurai/ Dandora and charge 20/= fare to Railway station. Also the one to Kibera and charge 10/=. This way a fella can move from Kibera to Ruiru at only 30/=

Yes we need reliable public mass transportation system, but are the masses at JKIA?
