Option 1:Hold down the power button till it shuts down, then reboot while continuosly pressing either F2/F8 (try one at a time), select 'start windows using last known good configuration'. If unsuccessful
OPTION 2:
Restore the system to a previous state since your problem may be due to corruption of the operating system. Repeat step 1 but
select 'safe mode' it will give you an option to restore the system to an earlier state after logging in.

Good advice,
if this doesn't work, shake the machine the cursor will move to the right end of the screen Laughing out loudly

Try out what @Xyzee advises. If this does not help, then you'll have to restore your machine using the recovery disks. Most Toshiba laptops come with the Recovery disk creator-I hope you used the facility to create these disks. Which model of Toshiba are we talking about?

Now I have a similar problem. Cursor on the top left side. Its actually a dos prompt that requires a password but one of the buttons has refused to yield intended output to complete the password, now I cant log in. External keyboard has not helped since no power comes to it till log in. HEEEEEELP.

Download 'Power On Password reset tool' you can google and download if for free. Burn it on a CD and boot with it, This should reset your password to whatever you choose.
