Hmmm... Protests in Kuwait... I wonder if this is what is making oil spike about for the last 3 days apart from the Iran/Israel tensions.

Central banks made their largest purchases of gold in decades in the third quarter, as a sharp drop in prices in September accelerated the shift to bullion as a means of diversification.

The scale of the buying, at 148.4 tonnes on a net basis, was far bigger than previously disclosed, surprising some traders."

Nigel Farage as usual in the EU parliament... The system is hopelessly broken whether in euroland or US.

For those that trade options & futures markets, please read the blog below by Ann Barnhardt.

http://barnhardt.biz/

@ceinz - I stopped trading gold futures immediately CME started their ridiculous margin hikes when gold surpassed $1900. Just like silver when it rallied to $50. That to me was an outright admission the system was cracking underneath. I hope @futurestrader who was also trading gold futures is fine i.e. his account. He went quiet suddenly...

MF global is not a small bankruptcy... This is systemic!

S&P will be updating the credit ratings for the largest 30 global banks in 3 weeks time. Eh, I can see euroland bond market already shivering. A number of banks both US & euroland will most likely be downgraded. December might just be a 'hot' month...

@Cnn - May be this will make it clear about the end game...

I still see a major dollar squeeze like during lehman's shock and awe period - euroland bond market is in bad shape regardless of ECB trying stick save the situation...
