I know its the wrong place to post this but my toshiba laptop has just gone off only a blinking cursor on the left end of the screen. Any quick remedies ama lazima ione technician?

Check whether you have a usb or external drive or anything in the DVD drive ,are you getting the toshiba logo?

there's nothing in the drive and usb and its not even showing the logo just the kablinking light at the top of the screen

Option 1:Hold down the power button till it shuts down, then reboot while continuosly pressing either F2/F8 (try one at a time), select 'start windows using last known good configuration'. If unsuccessful
OPTION 2:
Restore the system to a previous state since your problem may be due to corruption of the operating system. Repeat step 1 but
select 'safe mode' it will give you an option to restore the system to an earlier state after logging in.

Try out what @Xyzee advises. If this does not help, then you'll have to restore your machine using the recovery disks. Most Toshiba laptops come with the Recovery disk creator-I hope you used the facility to create these disks. Which model of Toshiba are we talking about?
