I have being invited to speak to high school students (whom I think they have great opportunities in their future) and I will talk to them about being better off than their parents infact I feel like telling them that if you find that you are below your psrents you are a failure or a curse.....what do you think is it true?or how should I put it ?

Also when contemplating how you’re faring in the bigger picture across your entire adult life and into the future, would you consider yourself to be better off or worse off than your parents?

Do you think you childrean will be better off than you ?

With all due respect turn the opportunity down pliz.. You dont sound confident enough to be of any impact to those students.

I feel that statement coming from a man of God is quite unfortunate. Don't put too much pressure on the students just encourage them to keep working hard....otherwise they'll end up as pharmacists so as to be "better off than their parents". I think it all depends on how you were brought up. You also have to consider the fact that nowadays uchumi imekuwa mbaya. Come to think of it shouldn't it be the parents who should strive to ensure their kids get a better life.

And whats your definition of being better off? I ask this because people loosely define this as meaning having more money.

If you are giving it a christian perspective, emphasize on the students doing what pleases God even in difficult moments.
Also talk to them about being of value to society in their own small way. And talk of values such as honesty, decency (sp)etc.... and believing in themselves...
Lord, thank you!

Decline the invitation coz seriously, you do not understand the subject that you want to lecture the students on....

BTW,do you have children Pastor? If you do,have you ever found out if they are doing better than you ...And if they aredoing better than you,how did you explain the fact that you are their dad and a failure at that?...Just thinking aloud!
Nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm.

You have no idea what you are saying boss. Turn the offer down.or speak on something you know. It is certainly not bringing up children!

@ Pastor, like everyone else above says, you are on the wrong path. Brick wall
One, you may put too much pressure on the students.. Secondly, you may set their goals too low. What if their parents are drug dealers or chang'aa brewers? Haalllooo! We all want to be better than that. d'oh! d'oh!

I agree with @Guka, decline the invite... Or get a more inspiring message. Look into the bible, you will get lots you can use.
....above all, to stand.
