Hes not being truthful, or half of the herd is Boran and the other Fresian ...havent read the story yet to disect it

I agree with Guka. This could have however been an interesting story but it is poorly written /researched. Even if we assumed that the farmer is milking half the herd (85 animals) it would mean that he is getting about 13 liters of milk per animal per day, which is nothing to brag about. It could however be that a very high proportion of the herd (probably 80%) are immature females, in which case I would consider him to be more of a breeder than a milk producer.

Exactly my point.1M is "abuse" returns for such a big herd.....am also thinking,why would you want to keep the other unmilked 70?...Don't say it's for manure.smile
