Am also confused here. Does 8 shillings divided translate to 0.35 shillings after split.

@Aguytrying do really you think that increasing issued shares and issuing a bonus are two seperate independent events???

When bonus shares are issued it leads to an increase in issued share capital of the company because new shares have been created and issued

I have a strong hunch that KPLC 'under-reported' profits since GoK, ERC & Public are all anti-KPLC after the recent high electricity bills. Notice how KPLC announced the Results emphasizing EPS...

And the Rights Cash has not all been used up!

You are quite right. However there are more shares that are going to be issued that are not for bonus.

issuing 690,012,491 shares at 2.50 per share. bonus shares- 216,829,672 in proportion of one ordinary share at 2.50 for every eight held.

People watch KPLC. With the attached bonus, up should be the only direction for this counter.

Given, book closure is a long way off 28th feb 2012. However, watch this space.

The bonus is very generous and I agree it can only go up. My question though is - who or where are the ghost shares being created being allocated as this is not covered in the report they issued?

BBI will solve it

That is the same question that was on my mind when they released results. Though im happy im getting a bonus. I'm wondering why? and the extra shares??

How will the salary increase and hse allowances affect KP long term?

@ jerry. That is a concern, and not clear how it will affect KP long term. However if the growth continues as expected, It should water down any un-imagined effects.

In a rational market:
If kengen trades @ 10bob KPLC should be @ 35bob... or vice versa
If KPLC trades @ 18bob kengen should be @ 5bob...

I believe Mr market will provide us with one of these scenarios in the near future and I tend to think it will be the former.. So buckle up!!

With kplc @ 35 & kengen @ 10bob the stocks will have similar valuations on basis of Profits & book value.

I believe should happen this because.
1. Both are majority owned by GOK
2. Both have major expansion drive in place to boost earnings in the future.
3. Both have carried out major capital restructuring
4. Both are affected by similar risks and rewards specific to the power sector
5. Both currently depend on each other for their own existence/survival (one cannot exist without the other)
6. VISION 2030!!

Why must they be valued sooo differently??
