You have to give it up for KTN on this one. If you can, watch the swahili version by Ali as opposed to the English one by Onsarigo. They were not the same as far as the content goes - the Swahili one is better done. I fear for those kids-these cops who could get people to eat someone's brains, do you think they would have any hesitation 'finishing off the job'?

And the journalists too. We were discussing this yesterday and concluded this is probably why John-Allan may have left KTN. Young kid, young wife...too much to lose. Ali and Onsarigo are probably bachelors - it takes gorilla balls to run such a story.
All my friends are heathens, take it slow. Wait for them to ask you who you know. Please don't make any sudden moves.

Before the news, one of our latest 'waste of time and resources' parastatals was busy running long and expensively crafted adverts on taking pride in our nation - what load of boloney! How about the asking government to get its act together first on simple basics instead of rushing to sell bangi in the vegetable market

As of this morning I am very embarrassed and ashamed of being part of this state. How the hell do you make an innocent citizen minding his own business eat the brains of another after having witnessed you blow up the brains of that person? Thereafter proceed to decapitate his manhood in the most crudest and humiliating of ways pulling it and knocking his jewels into pulp.

Since when did we get so heartless and kill parents in front of their children? Do we expect these children to turn out good and why should we be surprised if these children driven by a deep sense of injustice go after justice in how they perceive it, who would begrudge them? I know I wouldn't because listening to their stories makes you want to hurl something dongle shaped at Vigilance house.I also have my doubts on the Buru buru incident, they say he was a cop involved in theft but going by the efforts expended to eliminate him it appears he probably didn't play ball and had to leave the scene.

And we talk of Vision 2030, Lamu port and similar nonsense...MJ was spot on during the funds drive for Kenyans for Kenya initiative when he said Kenya should stop chasing white elephant projects like Lamu port and most of that other vision 2030 nonsense if we can't feed people, have human beings respected and safe to mind their own affairs.

As for police reforms my strongly held conviction would be to send all 42k of them home and let them apply afresh for their jobs and only retain at most retain 20% of the very best no room for somehow ok. The current thinking that vetting would weed out the rotten apples is very misplaced, we are dealing with a very rotten institution and vetting hubris is a waste of time we are better of starting from scratch. We have young men willing to do an honest job for an honest day's pay and they are millions of them around the country. There many ways of plugging the gap during the recruitment including using military for some functions.

I also wonder why Moha has never won a single journalism award? Reminds you of Prof. Maathai, the young man has a personal crusade against continued use of unga and he is doing something about it. I surely hope the state and more so the cops won't be as foolish to attempt to eliminate him.

And the government says it's willing to fight drugs! We now know better.

he desrved the CNN award last year, but allan namu won it coz he did it in english. Perhaps he should add english translations in text to his work, coz a ugandan did it in vernaular with text translations and was awarded..
Onsarigo might bag this one...perhaps its time for cnn and other international awards to consider other langauges.

To hear a former Minister of State in the Office of the President in charge of Internal Security say that drug barons are very powerful people in Kenya, evoked a sense of total hopelessness.

Remember Commissioner of Police Iteere one time saying the exact same thing.

Don't expect any big shot to do anything substantial except make some vague condemnation of invisible drug barons. This thing will take more than 100 years to uproot.

To be fair to Murungaru and Iteere, I think even they fear for their lives if they show too much enthusiasm in tackling the real drugs bosses or naming any real names. The bosses in Kenya probably have a huge network of assassins that spans across continents.

But one thing that is abundantly clear is that drugs businesses is super-liquid. Random 7000, 20000 and 50000 for just moving some boxes from point A to B? I would not be surprised if each of the 70 overzealous cops that killed the GSU man received upwards of 1 million each with maybe 10 million each for the wakubwas. What is that when 6Billion is at stake?

Very sad state of affairs.

@kausha...i couldn't agree with you more and urs should go down as the post of the year!

What I feel today looking at a "policeman" is utter utter disgust. Everyone of them!

They graduate from 20bobs in traffic to killing infront of children all for a few shillings. Everyone called a policeman in this country should be fired! Even the ones who go around saying they are saved.

This kind of hooliganism is beyond barbaric. By the way, even the barbarians had a code of conduct. These lot is unhelpable (if there's such a word).

The tweet that these guys have on their twitter page smacks of total and absolute impunity. Ati those who have evidence about jichopevu should contact them.

One thing I know for sure is that even if the political class will not do something about it, when u murder someone infront of their kids, yours is coming soon and it will be more painful.

I will only vote for anyone who has never been in that parliament or in govt. Whether the guy is mother teresa or the virgin mary. That is all the politics I will ever participate in, in this country.

As for the "police", I would rather die of hunger than meet one of them. These things aren't even human beings.

My sentiments exactly. People might decide to deal with these fellows themselves. I wouldn't put it beyond a son/brother/cousin etc. traveling to Somalia or some other place for "military" training, getting himself a cache of weapons then hunting these barons down and dealing with them personally.

The Chief Pharmacist - the one who taught the rest the illicit trade - might be hard to track down but "fly to Narok for lunch" is not that hard to track down. He has a weakness of partying - with young girls - especially in Westlands! In some of the clubs he frequents, there are no security checks - before Al Shabaab manenos that is - and you can get to the table next to his fully armed. When you get there, you decided if it is a suicide mission with few casualties or a plant and leave big bang approach with a big number of casualties but with you surviving.

The government should act before the citizens take the law into their own hands. But they will not! This rot goes so high up that even miracles would not be enough to get the government to work.

One more thing, this thing (original story + video) seems to be muzzled on the Internet. It seems somebody is trying very hard to keep it local!
