Maybe the devil is using me but think about it. Anyway, I love the teachings of the bible but it is hard to believe on some things. Just saying! You need to read a book written by Napoleon Hill called - Think and Grow Rich. Then come back here we debate your doubts. Excerpts http://soilandhealth.org...Think.and.Grow.Rich.pdf
"One man gives freely, yet gains even more; another withholds unduly, but comes to poverty. A generous man will prosper; he who refreshes others will himself be refreshed." Rev Canon Karanja.

@otienosmall. The discussion of Gen 6 is an old one and with all due respect, Dr. Chuck has missed the essence of the Bible teaching here. It is generally agreed among leading Bible scholars today that the Sons of God can most tenably be interpreted as the Sons of Seth but there are those who are prepared to hold the opposing view that these are fallen angels no matter how unsustainable that view is. Jesus for instance numerously said that Angels do no marry - He just didn't says "unfallen Angels". It's telling that Chuck has not interacted with this issue in any substantive manner. Anyways, the main issue on Gen 6 is v.5 - God was greatly unhappy with the wickedness of mankind and being a just God, He had to let the consequences lay where they may. It should be borne in mind that these were not the days of Grace as it were.
Chuck (not a mainstream theology scholar) erroneously assumes that God was motivated by the desire to wipe out Nephilims and stretches the "afterwards" in v.4 to sustain his UFO theory. Clearly, everything that was not in the Ark was lost - Nephilims or otherwise. That's the plain truth on the issue. I dont know where Chuck gets these power games that God is supposed to be playing with Satan - this is clearly coloured by his career in US Intelligence Dept. The Bible is categorical here - Satan had already been put in his place long before Adam was created.

Mtu Biz Your caution is good and well-meaning but all the same it’s advisable to look at matters from all angles and not limiting oneself to a faith that came by default as had been mentioned before. Appreciated. Lets look at what is being alluded to in the videos. The weight of the discussion seems to be an attempt to prove the existence of extra terrestrials using Daniel 2: 43-45 Which says (NKJV) As you saw iron mixed with ceramic clay, they will mingle with the seed of men; but they will not adhere to one another, just as iron does not mix with clay. Now lets look at the context of that scripture. In Daniel 2 from verse 27 The King Nebuchadnezzar seeks to be told what he had dreamt and its meaning... none of the astrologers and sorcerers could do it... so Daniel Describes the dream to the King and gives an interpretation of the same all the way down to verse 40 which begins to describe the final kingdom which will rule over the earth. Verse 40: And the fourth kingdom shall be as strong as iron, inasmuch as iron breaks in pieces and shatters everything; and like iron that crushes, that kingdom w ill break in pieces and crush all the others. Verse 41: Whereas you saw the feet and toes, partly of potter’s clay and partly of iron, the kingdom shall be divided; yet the strength of the iron shall be in it, just as you saw the iron mixed with ceramic clay. Verse 42: And as the toes of the feet were partly of iron and partly of clay, so the kingdom shall be partly strong and partly fragile. Verse 43: As you saw iron mixed with ceramic clay, they will mingle with the seed of men; but they will not adhere to one another, just as iron does not mix with clay. This describes the final kingdom to rule the earth. The ten toes are 10 kings that will rule over that kingdom (Daniel 7:24) That final earthly Kingdom will have 2 characteristics... the kingdom or government itself will be very strong (iron) probably military rule but within this kingdom there will be weakness (clay) the people or the common man who is opposed to this government or sympathetic to the ruled masses. You can already catch a glimpse of this in the current US Govt(this is not that kingdom)... strong in terms of military might and ability to crush its enemies yet weak in terms of the demands from its people for human rights accountability, and the like. Strong but weak. Clay also represents human nature in various places in scripture. These two characteristics of the final kingdom cannot mix but will co exist. When you look at the context, it is very hard to see where extra terrestrials come into the picture.

Do not tamper with.
Mtu biz, Injere and others of like mind, do not tamper with.
Twice we have been instructed to cease and desist from tampering with.
Romans 16: 17 Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them.
2 John 1: 10 If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed:
The issue in question is doctrine. 1 John 2:22 Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son.
That is the doctrine and we have been told what to do about it.
Please, Mtu biz, Injere, do not tamper with. Please, obey the instructions, there must be a good reason for them.

No.
Mtu biz and Injere, Pastor M had already mentioned this. Leave them alone, dont go discussing and dissecting doctrine with them if they dont appreciate it. It will be a waste, casting pearls before, you know, swine.
They have already resisted Him despite all the evidence he has put before them and in their hearts, will we now prevail?
You cannot argue with the adversary and win. Dont tamper with them. Lets follow the instructions.

I agree that it is folly to discuss matters of doctrine with the unconverted but let us not pass up an opportunity to set the record straight should such an opportunity present itself. Consider this Jude 1:3-10 3 Dear friends, although I was very eager to write to you about the salvation we share, I felt compelled to write and urge you to contend for the faith that was once for all entrusted to God’s holy people. 4 For certain individuals whose condemnation was written about[b] long ago have secretly slipped in among you. They are ungodly people, who pervert the grace of our God into a license for immorality and deny Jesus Christ our only Sovereign and Lord. 5 Though you already know all this, I want to remind you that the Lord[c] at one time delivered his people out of Egypt, but later destroyed those who did not believe. 6 And the angels who did not keep their positions of authority but abandoned their proper dwelling—these he has kept in darkness, bound with everlasting chains for judgment on the great Day. 7 In a similar way, Sodom and Gomorrah and the surrounding towns gave themselves up to sexual immorality and perversion. They serve as an example of those who suffer the punishment of eternal fire. 8 In the very same way, on the strength of their dreams these ungodly people pollute their own bodies, reject authority and heap abuse on celestial beings. 9 But even the archangel Michael, when he was disputing with the devil about the body of Moses, did not himself dare to condemn him for slander but said, “The Lord rebuke you!”[d] 10 Yet these people slander whatever they do not understand, and the very things they do understand by instinct—as irrational animals do—will destroy them. When we set the record straight, even the faith of those who have believed is strengthened. And those who are yet to believe have something more to grapple with....

Nabwire, Richard Dawkins is still very much alive!! The physicist was interviewed on CNN, a year or so ago and listening to him, I agree with @ Nabwire coz he said he doesn’t refute the existence of mighty being (GOD) but that the existence of universe can be explained scientifically. All this science is still in the bible (C&P) The Earth Floats In Space A very interesting verse to consider is Job 26:7 (NKJV) 7 He stretches out the north over empty space; He hangs the earth on nothing. which states that God “hangs the earth on nothing.” This might evoke an image of God hanging the earth like a Christmas tree ornament, but hanging it on empty space. This verse expresses (in a poetic way) the fact that the earth is unsupported by any other object—something quite unnatural for the ancient writers to imagine. Indeed, the earth does float in space. We now have pictures of the earth taken from space that show it floating in the cosmic void. The earth literally hangs on nothing, just as the Bible teaches. The Ordinances of Heaven and Earth The Bible teaches that the universe obeys physical laws—“the ordinances of heaven and earth” Jeremiah 33:25 (NKJV) 25 “Thus says the LORD: ‘If My covenant is not with day and night, and if I have not appointed the ordinances of heaven and earth, …. The universe is neither haphazard nor arbitrary; nature conforms to logical, mathematical relationships set in place by the Lord. The laws of physics and chemistry are examples of these ordinances of heaven and earth. The clockwork precision of the planets as they orbit the sun is due to their strict obedience to God’s ordinances. The stars and planets are never late nor are they early. They do not fail to appear in their proper place at the proper time Isaiah 40:26 (NKJV) 26 Lift up your eyes on high, And see who has created these things, Who brings out their host by number; He calls them all by name, By the greatness of His might And the strength of His power; Not one is missing. Both earth and the rest of the physical universe (“heaven and earth”) obey the laws of nature. Many ancient cultures believed that the universe beyond earth was the realm of the gods. Indeed, the planets were often worshiped as gods. In reality, the planets are simply created objects which obey the same laws of nature which we can study on earth. In an incredible leap of insight, the biblical creationist Isaac Newton realized that the moon orbits the earth because the moon is pulled by earth’s gravity. The moon “falls” just like any other object; earth’s gravity deflects the moon’s path through space. Since the moon has a tangential (perpendicular to the line from the earth to itself) velocity, it falls “around” the earth rather than straight down. Newton also realized that the planets orbit the sun for the same reason; the sun’s gravity keeps them in their orbit. The planets and stars are not gods; they are mere creations, in nature which obey the Lord’s ordinances. Genesis 1:14–19 (NKJV) 14 Then God said, “Let there be lights in the firmament of the heavens to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs and seasons, and for days and years; 15 and let them be for lights in the firmament of the heavens to give light on the earth”; and it was ...

Something that i will never understand, why are atheists so determined to fight religion. I read a joke somewhere that it is better to believe in God and find out that there is none rather than not believe and find there is. It may not be the best reason buy hey there's nothing wrong. Same way guys take insurance covers for their investments. Also if you look at it simply; what do you ever loose by believing in God? What is the most that you can ever loose...... really?? “People will believe a big lie sooner than a little one, and if you repeat it frequently enough, people will sooner or later believe it.” ― Walter C. Langer

Someone (can recall who) posted that: The idea of a supernatural is superfluous. A supernatural creator almost certainly does not exist. The very foundation of religion is death and the inevitability of its finality.
I hope that this was a statement borne out of careful consideration of the facts because i will respectfully treat it as such.
There are many evidences that have been adduced over time to show that the philosophical premises that God exists is more probable than its negation. For instance, let’s look at the design of our mother planet, the earth. Atheists would have us believe that, as Geisler puts it, that “the universe exploded out of nothingness”. But look out of the window and what do you see? That the universe is precisely designed! This begs the question, who is the designer? Imagine you are walking on the beach and saw the inscription “Coke” on the sand as you walk? What’s your most reasonable conclusion? That the water tides or wind “wrote” the word on the sand? No, that an intelligent mind wrote the word.
The truth is that the life permitting conditions on earth are balanced on a knife’s edge as it were and there about 11 anthropic constants that are fine tuned to unimaginable degree for us to be here. I will explore a few here (Source: Geisler, 2004):
1.Oxygen comprises 21% of the atmosphere. 25% and fires would erupt instantaneously; 15% and we’d all suffocate to our deaths. 2.If the force of gravity was altered by a mere 0.000000000000000001%, the sun would cease to exist and so would we. 3.If the centrifugal force holding planets’ trajectories in place did not precisely balance out the gravitational forces, the entire solar system as we know it would collapse. 4.Any of the laws of physics can be described as a function of the velocity of light (299,792,458 metres per second) 5.If Jupiter shifts from its current, the earth would be shelled by space material. Jupiter’s gravitational field acts as a cosmic vacuum cleaner attracting asteroids and cosmic debris that would otherwise bombard earth in seconds.
Together with the 11 anthropic constants, there are in total 122 constants and according to Astrophysicist Hugh Ross, the probability that these would exist by chance alone (without a designer) assuming that there are 1022 planets is a massive 10138, i.e. one with 138 zeroes after it! Primae facie, this is sheer evidence that the cosmos is finely tuned with amazing precision.
You see, over the years Christianity has been treated as a mere leap of faith. As far as the likes of Dawkins and Sam Harris are concerned, it's a delusion but as the scientific evidence that i have presented here shows, Christianity can be defended intelligently and reasonably unlike any other faith i know of. Scientific evidence points to the G word that scientists that have for years laboured to avoid. When Einstein first formulated his theory of general relativity in 1916, he didn't like what he saw - the inevitable conclusion of this theory postulated that the universe had a beginning. He fugded his results and included a dummy cosmological constant. In 1919, Arthur Eddington repeated the experiment and got the same results and he too wasnt happy with the implications - he too fugded the results of the experiment hoping he'd find a "genuine loophole". It was only in 1922 that a Russian mathematician Alexander Friedman exposed the "error" in Einstein's formulae!
For the reasonable mind objectively reviewing the evidence available, there are ample reasons to belief in God. This often comes as a surprise to many people who just assume that Christianity is a mish mash of concoted by Bible thumping fundamentalists.

@injere, you are a theologian? but maybe you should delete one post! I can't add to what has been said here, it should be now clear to all! If you don't believe Jesus is the way to eternal life, then you are not Christian. There is no inherited Christianity, it's an individual choice(Romans 10:9-10)

.... Let me clarify one thing, I am not questioning the existance of supernatural being, you can call him GOD a such, I am questioning the possibility that the bible was written as people of those days tries to understand where they could have come from and I am also questioning the institute of the church, I am not by anyway a student of theology and I can see some people here actually have studied the bible but one thing I know about the bible is it is selectively being used to serve the church of today. .... I am not ruling out the probability that the bible came out of fiction stories but what I do know is that, it is a good book that, with caution, I will teach my kids to read, especially the teachings of Jesus Christ.

@DKARD, I think your question has been answered by Injere. The Dead Sea Scrolls discovered in 1947 show that scripture has not been tampered with by the church as alleged. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dead_Sea_Scrolls

An atheist was seated next to a little girl on an airplane and he turned to her and said, “Do you want to talk? Flights go quicker if you strike up a conversation with your fellow passenger.”
The little girl who had just started to read her book replied to the total stranger, “What would you want to talk about?”
“Oh, I don’t know,” said the atheist. “How about why there is no God, or no Heaven or Hell, or no life after death?” as he smiled smugly.
“OK, she said. “Those could be interesting topics but let me ask you a question first. A horse, a cow, and a deer all eat the same staff –grass. Yet a deer excretes little pellets, while a cow turns out a flat patty, but a horse produces clumps. Why do you suppose that is?”
The atheist, visibly surprised by the little girls intelligence, thinks about it and says, “Hmmmm, I have no idea.”
To which the little girl replies, “Do you really feel qualified to discuss why there is no God, or Heaven or Hell or no life after death, when you don’t know shit?”
And then she went back to reading her book.
