How would you like it if I call you 'Mother'? I mean, why misuse a term which carries a lot of wait.

I was called a certain lady 'Mama' and she went bananas. "Mimi ni mama yako, huna hadabu", she reeved for all to hear.

So, I have a policy, never use a term on someone you are not familiar with. Actually, when you teach your kids to call the house girl 'Auntie', you are devaluing the status of the real Aunt to the kids. So, when the real Aunt comes around, she is looked down as another irrelevant lady in the house.

What about 'boss'. I once called a colleague who is at my level 'boss' and he was like...kwani av become ur boss??

Please know that these people ,the house manager reaaly deserve respect and honour,dont joke with them,they means alot to your life,they dont even deserve to be called Aunt,i introduce mine as my dota coz she is good and her work is good
