Not considering the funding I think a war could be good for Kenya,if it is short and we win because it seems to bring out patriotic sentiments and we forget our tribal differences for a while.
The same tribal differences are the same reason we will NEVER have an "occupy N.S.E" .Inequality and impunity in Kenya are protected by tribalism. So keep dreaming.

Of Kshs woes and cbk hapless last minute control measure. The only true savior of the currency in the short term is the rate hikes and the relaxing of the commercial banks foreign currency reserve requirement, otherwise we are at the mercy of the market. In the long-run, safeguarding and revamping exports-tea,coffee, other agric products, tourism etc would be the alternative.

Interesting how cheap credit tempts people into consumerism instead of investments.

Just how much power do bankers and governments really have? Well, they've colluded and the result is wikileaks going broke.
No more 'revelations'

Well, atleast Treasury still thinks we can grow 5.5 percent. Some would classify that as a miracle. It's not like they've never happened

I'd like a shot of that hopium that Treasury is smoking. High quality it is d'oh!

Going afta Somali's militia has risks. That's expected. Libya's was an invasion and in bad taste and I haven't supported it from the word go (I posted something on this thread a while back on the same & a number of leaders have voiced it too). Somali's is not an invasion as its a stabilization exercise supported by their transition govt. I view it like going after tamil tigers. Of course I'm not a war fan. But, I look at the opportunities it presents from rebuilding.

Something else here about the global hopium - http://bit.ly/vj6A3f

Now we have the Vatican joining the chorus. Why does it sound like Al Gore's 2009 Global warming call, which we all know was a spectacular scam now renamed 'climate gate'?

Why I call it a global stocks hopium parade is coz of such things like this, which market participants forget in an instant. Only to be thrown under the bus at the next stage... Not forgetting S. Korea doing all it can on the same. Today Japan is also extending the duration on the same... And the October rally continues smile

A must read.

"As anticipated by LEAP/E2020, the second half of 2011 is seeing the world continuing its unstoppable descent into global geopolitical dislocation characterized by the convergence of monetary, financial, economic, social, political and strategic crises. After 2010 and early 2011 which has seen the myth of a recovery and exit from the crisis shattered, it's now uncertainty that dominates the States’ decision-making processes just like businesses and individuals, inevitably generating increasing apprehension for the future. The context singularly lends itself: social explosions, political paralysis and / or instability, return to the global recession, fear over banks, currency war, the disappearance of more than ten trillion USD in ghost-assets in three months, widespread lasting and rising unemployment..."

So the EU summit has come & gone with nothing to show. Shocked, nop. This was expected. Nothing to see here. The CDS market in euroland will be interesting in coming weeks as the markets realize the rosy snow island is indeed an iceberg smile

This euroland summit has swept a lot under the carpet (expected - nothing fixed) and also sent a curveball straight at chingland. This is where your attention should be... The next time chingland announces a GDP growth below 9%, it'll be an interesting day going forward.
