Othaya-Nyeri-Nyahururu-Nakuru would be cheaper in terms of fuel and time....Caution though.Avoid Nairutia-Ndaragwa forest stretch after 3PM. Maragua to Naks? Thika-Fly route should be shorter....and smoother....and flatter....hence quicker n cheaper. TULIA.........UFUNZWE!

@Toxicity, I am not in the know but i guess that once a road has been comissioned and handed over to the ministry of roads,the contract ends and therefore the onus of repairing the road is in the ministry.I stand to be "collected". Nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm.

I think it depends on how the CONtract was structured. I knw of a CONtracter who has to maintain a certain road 4the nxt 5yrs. I also stand to be collected. TULIA.........UFUNZWE!

@Djinn, I passed by Kapsabet town from Eldoret on my way to BGM.The longer route you would say but i had to catch a friend of mine from high school days.I decided to use the shorter route to KK and see what i unearthed.I can tell you this country has some cheap and majestic holiday places.This retreat is smack in the middle of KK forest.Tee off to the right at Chepsegon(??) (18 kilometres from Kapsabet town on your way to Chavakali and turn right to a fairly good earth road) ...Didn't venture into the forest as i have serious phobia for snakes.I am told the forest is home to many snake species including the horned Gabon viper...oops!...But the birds,butterflies,monkeys (I saw some monekeys with blue balls  .Didn't have much time but i guess this is what they refer to as great blue Turaco ),are a sight. http://rondoretreat.com/ Nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm.

1 - Mau Summit-Kericho section
2 - Kericho - Los Kogelos section
3 - Eldoret - Turbo (some road works had started mid August)

@Njung'e - now is when I am seeing your narrative about blue balled monkeys! eish! I'm thinking if Mau Summit-Kericho is no good, and with Eldoret Malaba now being ripped up for work, I might got via the scenic forest with blue balled primates...

@Djinn, Haven't used either routes of late.I find the Kapsabet one convinient enough.I intend to keep off until work is completed....Fuel,you know. Nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm.

Mau Summit to kericho diversion is very rough if u travelling to kericho from nairobi and u dont have any business in Nakuru nor naivasha i prefer the narok Road...the diversion is like 25kms but using it feels like 50kms! update president set president = speaker where president is null

There is something called the defects liability period. The Contractor is liable for any defects occurring after the end of the construction for a period of time most usually a period of 365 days. The client retains 10% of the total project cost for this. If the product is in good condition the money is refunded at the end of this period. I don't know whether the GOK enforces this It is better to keep your mouth closed and let people think you are a fool than to open it and remove all doubt...
