The only prob' with this guy much as he is of sharp intellect; is that he prides himself with unmeasured arrogance. He can head any UN body,no doubt. He is however among our many intelligensia who entered murky waters of politics only to lose respect and dignity.
BTW being an MP in Kenya is so lucrative that Kituyi had to turn down international approaches for a seat 'reserved' for him at WTO. Eti he consulted the Prezo........who had promised him greater things politically.
Having learned a bitter lesson......let him venture out.

It's not where yu are,but where yu want to be.

One of Kenya's better brains that could be very useful elsewhere if not here. I liked this guy. Hope he gets it.

Lets appreciate Intellect for once! He has it.

But you shall remember the LORD your God,for it is He who is giving you power to make wealth, that He may confirm His covenant which He swore to your fathers,as it is this day. Deu 8:18

He is no doubt the best candidate for the Job,but what are his chances? he is my take,

a)He has to overcome the hadle at Ministry of Foreign Affairs-Kenya where Wetangula is the Boss. The two do not get along and he is unlikely to get the necessary support from that important ministry.

b) The UN secretary General is from Asia and he will be under pressure from his region to retain the current guy who has already indicated interest in a second term.

c)The African Group in New York is likely to support a candidate from Ivory Coast because of Kenya's poor strategy in lobbying for International jobs.

I wish him all the best. Pride or no pride I know he's a competent, knowledgeable and progressive man.

Arrogance notwithstanding,it was for the good of the country that he turned down the WTO job. I felt comfortable when he was at Trade ministry formulating policies. When he was at the helm, they even used to send emails (to those on their email list) to the public asking for comments on policy issues and I think they were doing a good job. He is one of the very few good brains we have in politics.
