Ksh 50...Are you serious? I can write and do write for free. Dude, if I found 50 bob lying on the street, I won't even bent to pick it. It is not worthy my time...

Kshs 50 is way too low. Some magazines/publishers can pay that much per WORD let alone for 300 words...

Even the very prolific writers you speak of, who earn 16k per month, mist be doing that full time and not part time. To write even 4000 (edited) words a day is quite an effort.

Anywy, good luck with whatever you are doing. Perhaps share a link at some point.

Thanks for the opinion. The rate keeps going up as you progress. Most freelancers start off earning a dollar per 500 words, as you go on the rate increases. I share the kadollar or slightly more with my writers. If it was for a magazine/academic writing probably the rate would be high as you've stated. That is because there are only a limited number of writers for those. As for online article writng, there are way too many freelancers doing it so rate is low at the start.

Like I said better rates will be coming as we go along. Watch this space!

Atleast you're worth more that $0.5!But no matter how much I might be worth $0.5 can buy a pop so I will pick it.

For some that sh 50 per article is a joke or even an insult but for some it may be a path to bigger better things. For some the pay may not even be important but the avenue to expose their talent and work. For some they may not any job, so instead of lazing around surfing FB the whole day why not do something constructive. Lets not discourage others simply because we think the pay is not worth our time.

@Mpenzi you are right it follows the same concept why u do unpaid internship you write for 50 bob and learn what this online writing jobs are all about and you begin getting the jobs yourself.A seasoned writer just needs 2 hours a day to write 10 articles making it 500 a day make that in 30 days gets u a clean 15,000ksh.
