I acquired two VW Beetles (1968 & 1972) for restoration and more recently added a 504 Station Wagon to the stable next to a 504 Saloon.
So I am running out of space...
I must now dispose of one Beetle (1972)
and carry on with the other one for which I imported and fitted various parts.
So, for anyone interesting in acquiring an old, low cost, running MV & also ready to invest a little bit more to get a relatively decent running car, here are the details:
- Year - 1972
- Engine 1600 cc - runs well - just needs service (plugs, oil, etc)and tune up.
- Body - needs some work and paint. Floor pan largely intact.
- Interior - needs some upholstery (or seat covers as a quick fix).
- Tyres - usable in the interim - original steel rims.
- Left Hand Drive, Independent Rear Suspension (not Swing Axle suspension)
- Had acquired a set of 4 new ball joints (upper and lower) - not fitted.
- Electricals - all in working condition.
- Starter may need brushes.
The other plan is to break it up and sell it in major parts such as:
- Complete Engine (with starter, alternator, carb, distri, etc)
- Body (with front suspension & interior intact)
- Gearbox with rear suspension intact.
- Wheels, steel rims (set of 5 - 4 still usable)
- etc
