I happened to be at the above street on Sunday 2nd October and again on 16th October 2011 at around 8pm. On Both days I saw members of the public administering mob Justice on some pple one on each day in response to some ones shout of "mwizi!"

Also I noticed young men of about 20-25yrs walking in groups of like 15-25 people opposite the post office towards Nairobi river

On the 2nd they came asking for the public to leave alone the mob justice victim. On 16th some of them shouted mwizi, and appeared to be disagreeing before proceeding with their walk.
This was about 20 minutes before the actual mob justice of 16th
There were at least 3 groups of young men passing like every 15 minutes.

A hawker around the area commented that this happens on most Sundays at 8pm and 9pm.
The 9pm group is most dangerous according to the hawker.
They cause commotion and in the confusion pick pocket, snatch handbags etc from members of the public.

Watch out if u happen to use the route at night.
Does any Wazua member know somebody who could possibly act on this? I am sure it has been reported and maybe action is being taken but just incase.
Also I expect cops get all manner of reports of crimes so this is just one more.

On 2nd Oct an unsuspecting and seemingly innocent young man was hit in the confusion and I remember seeing him bleeding from the head quite abit.
Also no one would be sure that the alleged suspect is actually a suspect or has been targeted by pple who have intentions of benefiting from commotion.
Better be safe than sorry.
