How many of you fellow wazuans have realized that the scam game "lotteries" have shifted base from TV to mobile phone platforms, there is one annoyingly persistent one running from 888 and always sending messages into my airtel line in-spite of my deactivation attempts...it has very silly questions...sample this..what does a co produce (a)water (b)honey (c)milk...then at the very end there is a very small hint that the sms costs 25/- only...why are cell phone companies perpetrating this kind of impunity...imagine the fellows being conned per hour with this nonsense. These silly things only happen during per-general elections period....washindwe hawa...kudos to genuine ones like sweepstake etc

So how have you attempted to deactivate? I'm getting the same irritating SMS messages after I first sent an SMS thinking it would be the only one. BTW, have you heard of anyone who has won the 100K they give everyday?

am told unsubscribing is not effected immediately....they are like bugs...u dont easily shake them off Sad otherwise how else will they make money if everyone unsubscribes upon realising its a scam...its like those others sijui receive daily msgs on love, romance bla bla bla and they charge extra.

try send words like STOP, UNSUBSCRIBE, QUIT to the number. they normally don't tell u how to stop. i had same problem with some number and i had to call severally, finally they gave me the number to call 'IT Manager' to have my number deleted from the database. it worked. they always try to complicate the process.

Lets us continue en lighting others and minimize chances of being conned...Nairobi is full of people looking for easy money without sweating for it and a greater number working hard to make the moolah e.g most wazuans so hao wa sms cons.....washindwe

I am waiting for such companies to send me such an sms and deduct my hard earned cash.
The next stop will be Kioko Kilukumi's law office and we argue on infrigement to privacy, theft etc. This will make me richer.

Its actually Airtel sending the messages.... not a separate lottery....complaints registered from West africa all the way to india....

you can write an email to Airtel customer service asking them to exclude you from their lotteries... hope it works...
