How do the distributors who charge a K and also give out the 'DISH' from DSTV do it.......sometimes it is insider bizz!!!!

As far as I'm aware they stopped printing 'Dish'.

what about dstv-ready buildings coming up...?

do they pay ffor each and every house because they are usually subsidized....lower than official rates.

A DSTV-ready building is one that shares a common dish and each apartment is cabled, so the owner/tenant just buys a decoder and connects it to the socket on the wall. He/she will be responsible for the subs for that decoder. It simply increases the aesthetic value as you don't have a million dishes on the roof and unsightly cables dangling on the sides of the building.

I still think DSTV is run by a bunch of greedy capitalists! And they bill in dollars! Sad

If they really wanted to, most households in Kenya would be having a legal DSTV connection at an affordable price.

IMHO DSTV real threat will come from affordable internet ala Zuku and the rest whereby i will be the first to ditch DSTV

Just found out the way to access DSTV and other paid satellite networks...

Apparently the technique is called 'card sharing' - and guys are getting it into a big way since decoders are needed for receiving digital tv signals.

I met someone over the weekend who said they access the full DSTV service for only 2k a month using an openbox decoder.
