Who killed driver of key Uhuru witness?
This is the headline of today's standard newspaper with the picture of Lewis Nguyai splashed below it. I see the the headline on my way to work and I say to myself "Things are thick!!! They are killing witness now and killing Nguyai's driver must be a message to him and any other ICC witness - especially the ones who dare mention Mungiki!!!"
I get to the office, access standard newspaper online only to realize the murder happened a year ago, neither Mr. Nguyai or the police linked the death to Mungiki or any other group/individual, the driver was killed in a crime prone area, there had been a series of crimes in the area at that time, the family of the deceased in Kisii were not even interviewed on today's story etc. etc.
What is wrong with the Standard? Are they this desperate? How does such a story make to the headline - after one year? Why have misleading headlines to begin with?
I know many wazuans have written off the Kenya media, but they keep finding new ways to sink to new lows. Behaviour typical of gutter press!!
