A moving tribute by Lorot Salem1 on Facebook quoted by CNN, "I refuse to believe that Mama is dead. She lives among us. She lives in my poems. She lives in the trees. She is the air I breath. Her soul is in Uhuru park. Her soul is roaming all over the world. My mama still lives on."
Also, here's an apt quote for today from Walsch, the author of Conversations With God, "On this day of your life, dear friend, I believe God wants you to know...that strength does not come from physical capacity. It comes from an indomitable will. Mahatma Gandhi said that, and he was right. Boy, was he right! My father put this to me in another way. Often during my childhood he would say, "Never take 'no' for an answer." And he made it clear to me that by this he meant, not just from people, but from life.
Life is bendable to our will more than we know. Every single time? Every single instant? No. (Well, actually, yes...but that will probably not be our experience, unless we have reached Mastery.) But more than we know. In fact, that's the deal. If we don't know that life bends to our will, it will not. So the trick is to know that life is on our side - but awaits our command. Look what Gandhi did.

~ it's the least we can do but real honour will be to maintain her spirit of conservation~ All you can do is all you can do; but all you can do is enough!

majay wrote:Quite a good gesture from the government. They should however seek to honor heroes in their lifetime too At one time, Hitler was a hero who was celebrated alive. Before his death, he had become such a bad person you would not have wanted to call him a hero. That is why society waits for your death to make you a hero. Mandera is the only exception.

...Moi should apologise before he could be allowed to attend the funeral... Leave MOI out of this so that we can celebrate the heroine. Her name and Moi should never appear in the same paragraph. He must be very ashamed of what he did.
