A poisonous gas leak at a factory near Shauri Moyo Adventist school in Shauri Moyo area of Nairobi has been reported and emergency services are warning people to avoid the scene of this highly poisonous gas leak. Some people (eleven as at 1300 hrs) have been rushed to hospital and no fatalities have been reported so far.

You are therefore advised to take precautions while approaching the vicinity (if you must) of the area until assured it is safe. This may include Jogoo road adjacent to the estate and its environs.

MEDICS say signs of gas poisoning (Chlorine) are irritation of eyes, skin, throat, fatigue. Report to nearest health center.

POISONOUS GAS leak in Shauri Moyo contained. KNH says of 44 cases received, nine are on oxygen support, the rest are stable.
