Currently the premium package costs about Ksh 7560 which is quite costly then this?Time to make tough decisions - no more DSTV for me.

I've a problem with DSTV charging kenyans in Dollars. When shillings weakens, they seem to be reaping where they dint plant. The last time I paid for DSTV was in 2009. It will remain like this till they start behaving.

GTV used to charge 2750 with rain or sunshine!

DSTV offers shall i say the current variety of tv entertainment. However, that is not enough to call it a Monopoly. We now have Zuku, smart tv, go tv and other alternatives in the market

Zuku @ 2500 is not bad. The reason many go for dstv premium is for the soccer, but at >7500 not sure I'll ever think of renewing my subscription

Could someone who has tried Gotv please tell us if it's a better alternative toDSTV? Or even Zuku for the sake of comparison.

BTW I was trawling through the Zuku channels last night and came across Kass TV. They have also set aside a channel for Bunge TV, which isn't broadcasting anything at the moment.

GOtv Kenya offers a total of 21 great TV channels ranging from lifestyle, Documentary, Kids to Series; you only need to have a decoder costing Kshs.6,255 including 3 months GOtv subscription to receive the flourished channels. In order to continue enjoying GOtv Kenya channels, you’ll be required to subscribe to a monthly plan of Kshs.585 (21 channels), of course after your initial 3months subscription expires. Those who are not within Nairobi will however not be able to enjoy GOtv services until after the provider has obtained and set up frequencies in their areas; unlike Dstv which uses satellite transmission, GOtv operates on Digital Terrestrial Transmission (DTT) platform. The new pay TV service from Multichoice in partnership with KBC operates on Digital Terrestrial Transmission platform that guarantees clear channel reception with additional functionality contrary to current analogue platform.

Got Zuku Satellite TV for 1999/- monthly. I get all local FTA channels, 6 movie channels (though they bring old movies.... latest i've seen ni ya 2007/8), 6 documentary channels, 10 Intl news channels, 7 Music Channels, 5 Kids channel.....etc! over 30 Audio channels available

I must say its way much better that DSTV compact! Problem is Hakuna EPL or Champions league matches are aired (though u can catch one on local Kiss TV)
