....Kpc noticed the leakage many hours before the tragedy....it was quite probable that some kenyans would siphon...imho the mngt should have used the media to ensure that pple evacuate before the tragedy....

While this is highly regretable don't you think we are being a tad too insensitive towards the slum dwellers? Do we expect them to express/view/analayse situations like we do!!!

I think it's unfair to measure these using the same yardstick without putting into context there situation et al. As many of us are typing away, making descions, analysing 000's of reports, wondering 'where' to go for lunch, most poeple in the slum either spent the whole night guarding our 'gated communities' having withstood the cold and the occassional insults from us from maybe taking too long to open the gate, or spent the day queing at Express/Transami hoping something will give in today and maybe just maybe today he willl get that Ksh 200 that will be enough to buy some food for the 2 year old daughter or that extra jumper she has been wanting cox of the extra cold nights etc so if some were indeed walking back home after having spent the entire day queing at industrial area with no luck as they walked home pondering/hoping maybe tomorrow will be better vis a vis (where most of us thinking who will win between Barca V Ac Milan or you want to put an order to your broker tomorrow for XYZ) and then all of a sudden there is well 'free fuel' what do you think will be their next cause of action??

Its sad to say the least but please guys some sensitivity please..
