There is no patent for that idea. The guy admits he got the idea from the net. Just do something to differentiate your product.
This reminds me of SK Macharia's success in media. In 2000, Rose Kimotho launched the first private owned vernacular station-Kameme FM. Many wondered where she would get content because before this vernacular radio meant 2hrs from 5-7am then later 8pm to midnight(Kikuyu service under KBC Central Station, whose frequency was shared with Maasai, Embu and Kamba). But here she was promising 24hr vernacular service!
Many feared Kameme would close down. However, Kameme was an instant success and probably Rose did not foresee competition. She even named her station Kameme which means radio in Gikuyu! Then SK launched Inooro FM. The station faltered first before he invested in buying big names in media then and eventually overtook Kameme.
Today, SK's Royal Media owns not just Inooro but a constellation of other vernacular stations!!
After all, the Kikuyu proverb says, Ng'ombe itininanagira nyeki-There's enough for every cow in the herd.
