One too many. Isn't time GoK took charge of setting up proper fire regulations for all the major towns including having functioning fire brigades?

For how long shall we allow our government get away with the not implementing the laid down regulation all because one fellow gets his votes from there? This is the real impunity by the government.

Sad day it is. I hope the fire has been extinguished. Can't hep but think of the children who may have been caught up in this (not that children are more special but becaue on a working day like this, there are likely to be many minors left behind as fathers and mothers venture out to find something to bring back home.

The disaster preparedness has again been thrust to the fore once again at least fo the next few days. Some senior politicians will today send his condolences, issue some crackdown and then we are back to square one.

About a week ago, fore broke out at some place in Nairobi's surburbs. On being alerted the fire truck parked less than five minutes drive from the fire quickly switched on the siren and zoomed off....it passed the burning building as it was headed to a nearby river to fetch water. Untrained citizens used all manner of tools including wasting catrons and cartons of expensive bootled water to put out the fire. When the fire was finally put out, the citizens were interupted by the earpearcing sirens of the fire engine that had gone to fetch water. Three huge private fire engines and two ambulances also arrived from the City...... I think the crew should thank God it didn't happen in Eastlands.

In today's case, the rescue teams got there on time but no accesss........Oh what a City.
