Jonah's prophecy to them was destruction in 40 days. However... When God saw what they had done and how they had put a stop to their evil ways, he changed his mind and did not carry out the destruction he had threatened (Jonah 3:10)

This may very well have been the case here in Kenya concerning prophecy of an earthquake.

@savant, exactly! God sent Jonah to prophesy doom over Nineveh IF they did not repent. In Kenya, Owuor claimed God told him that we would be punished and that there was no need of repenting! btw the quake was to happen that year

You seem to forget that whoever goes to the lord he shall in no wise cast out. John 6:37.

Had they continued their way, they would have been destroyed. We could have been in a fix from the higher critics had the destruction failed to occur even as they went on their normal activities.

There is no contradiction. After all, how many times does God make a mistake? Zero, non.

I agree that the prophecy about kenya may not have happened but remember a revival church has sprung here in kenya today and has been always on their knees crying and repenting to God about this land. A revival meeting is underway in Kisii starting Friday 16th september 2011 till sunday follow this link https://docs.google.com/...TgwYWMtNjg4NjE4NGIwOGIw and God has promised in the past that if he finds 100, 50 or even 20 righteous persons in a city he won't destroy that city. God's ways are different from ours his thoughts are Higher than ours.

Can they really repent on others behalf today in the light of the curtain of the holy of holies being torn apart?
