There is a bulb above your head in the shower? Isn't that kind of dangerous as that's a wet area? Shouldn't the light fixture be placed away from the shower- over the sink maybe? Otherwise, you need a fixture that is made for wet locations- with a plastic or acrylic globe or lens around it that is properly sealed.


Also make sure that your shower area is ventilated so that you don't get excessive moisture build-up.

Could be a poor quality bulb, a voltage surge, or excessive vibration. The safest thing is to not use "naked" bulbs that lack lenses or globes.

For the cause of the explosion get professional help. Otherwise get and use those bulb fixtures with covers they use in the bathrooms. Should insulate the bulb and also contain any possible future explosions. If that explodes too next time then you would be beyond help as dead people generally are.
