She can change as you have been advised but word of caution is that it is a nightmare. A large number give up while in the process. Be aware that while hustling up and down in different offices to change you are missing classes for which you are still expected to sit for cats and exams for the course you were chosen for. However you still have to camp in those offices for any form usaidizi. As yesuwangu has said register 1st and let your child know not to sit back and expect it to happen. It is proper hustling

if she wants to undertake a different course at a diff uni then she has to apply for a transfer BEFORE the opening date of KU..ama as soon as she gets the calling letter from KU...if she waits mpaka KU opens then she will only be allowed to change courses within KU....bt the process is hectic!

Let her worry about it. You have done your part - supported her up to form 4.

If she doesn't ask for help, don't offer it. Assume that she is bright enough to make her own decisions... and seeing the grades she scored, I am quite certain she is very bright.

I would suggest that she visits JAB and changes her courses before reporting at KU

Before she starts the process of changing, the following should be clear:

1. How many points are required for the course she wants to apply for and which is the required combination.

you might have an A but not qualify for a certain course; this can be due to the required combination subjects for the course e.g.you failed in lets say Physics/mathematics or languages which affects the required aggregate point required for the course. or you might want to apply for Geology and u did n't take Geography which might be mandatory etc.

2. which university offers the course she wants to apply for.

Example:You might discover lets say UoN and Maseno/Moi offers the course but the points of entry for UoN higher or very competitive so she might opt to apply in Maseno/Moi which might not be very competitive. I know my classmates who scored lower points in KCSE were admittted to do BA in MOI but they changed the courses to Law which i could not do at UoN

3. She will then indicate the first choice as the course which she has attained the required points for a particular university.

If lets say UoN has very many applications they will pick the top guys so one might have qualified but not be admmitted. thats when the second choice is considered.

just visit the offices for advise when there is less traffic as the revising period is usually crazy(lots of guys)
