News Update: Kenya's TransCentury swings into profit in H1

Pretax profit stood at 165 million shillings versus a loss of 48.6 million the previous year, while revenue grew by 40.6 percent to 4.5 billion. No more losses in Tanzania; and 2.5b healthy cash position to boot.

Uuuh, after gazing at the stars, my price guide is...

Just wondering how their H12010 PBT shot up from a loss of48.6M to 630M at end of year!
And thier H12011 PAT of 53.8M when projected to full year leaves you with a forward EPS of 0.258 if you include the shares from convertible bonds to the tune of 150,920,616 that will bring the total o/s shares to 417,958,706.
The projected PE at yesterday's price of 38 is 147, which to me is soo scary!

The company was buoyed by a rise in regional sales volumes in the Power Infrastructure decision which pushed revenues up 40% to Kshs. 4.5 Billion.

Operating margins however reduced to 8.9% from 12%

@Sufficiently Philanga....thropic, Incorporating the extra shares to be listed from the Convertible Bond Programme (6,912,194), projected Earnings Per Share for the full year will be 0.39/= At the current price of 38/=, TCL trades a PE of 96.6. This will still leave 144,008,422 shares unissued

Listing price of 50 was plain crazy

@all this company baffles me. Do they have a moat that justifies the valuation? What is the investment in rvr worth anyway? This smells like a monkey.

Half year profit of 53M and 42M From East Africa Cables? This is a freezing monkey. I wud rather buy EAC at the current price instead of this monkey. No wonder they must have pushed EAC to declare interim div! Hi soko ina wenyewe!
