The price per share has soared to 30 bob per share up from 22 as per the OTC market valuation in 2009.
With the 242 million listed shres this places the value of the bank at over 7 billion.
Would you buy?

Given 1st quarter profit was Ksh85m, this implies forward P/E of 30/1.75 (4.2/2.4)=17 compared to say 15 for Ekweity.

Even Stanchart with their reduced profits have a lower forward PE. But as usual, the euphoria of listing will push the share higher on the OTC. Whether that will be replicated once the shares hit the NSE, is another thing. I also think Equity is trading at a much lower forward PE than 15...

Sober, when is the listing? Also, I'm eager to see which companies will list at the SMEX (Kudos Stella! You managed to give it a cool name like those foreign bourses)

LOL... a forward PER of 18+? I will stay out & rather buy proven Equity or a host of other banks at much lower PERs!

The current shareholders are the ones who are going to make money here.

@Youcantstopusnow. I pray that they list in october as per the rumours going round. With that the share will receive a beating so that we can buy it at 12 bob where the PE will be single digit.
