Our companies are doing well its only us who have little faith.

In a drought situation, it has done quite well. On a PER basis, not too bad either. I have seen the farms & in 3-4 years a large part can be converted to housing [like the KES 30bn Fourways without the drama] but I think it is a longer-term play. Housing will see a dip but will pick up again & if Kakuzi plays it right... another Tatu City project!

This idea of converting productive agricultural land to real estate doesn't sit well with me,we need the same to ensure food security for this country.Further with the shilling hurting as it is,we need to develop our export base, tea production and value addition inclusive.

My analysis on the Kakuzi results

Well these results are a surprise, I expected worse and it seems other segments of the company such as avocados and high tea prices and a weak Shilling cushioned Kakuzi from the drop in Tea output. Sales climbed by 7.9% to stand at Sh872 Million on the back of high tea prices and a weak Shilling while PBT declined by 0.5% to stand at Sh193 Million. Gross profit margins declined by 2% to stand at 24% while EPS improved slightly by 3% to stand at Sh4.35.
