Are Trancentury, Britak, Eveready et al. carrots dangled to unsuspecting ignorant investors? Are the owners of such companies finding loopholes to dump their investments to the masses? Is the NSE used to clean dirty money obtained by corruption and looting?

Why do Investment banks and stock brokers give a "BUY" advice when they know the fundamentals of the company are poor or even dead like Eveready?

I suspect lack of competency in these guys. Otherwise, they need to do serious soul searching!

Warren Buffett and Ben Graham....in The Intelligent Investor....says...never ask a barber whether you need a haircut. If you do,the only answer you will get will be affirmative. To answer your question....they give a BUY advice because they make money when you buy/sell.And it matters less whether you sold at a profit or loss.

Did you know, that those stock brockers dont know if a share will rise in the next two weeks. If they knew then they would be buying the stocks and mking the money instead of giving you.
I do my own research and the broker onle excecutes the order

Seems people are investing in every listing hoping to pull a 'Kengen'. If you don't bother to at least go through the prospectus, the blame is squarely on you. The ultimate call is yours, not your broker's, whose primarily role is to execute, as Sober says

The work of a sales person is to convince buyers, whether they benefit or not provided that what you are selling is genuine and existing.

Reminds me of Obi Okwonko in Chinua Achebe's "No Longer at Ease". During his job interview, the mzungu he was to replace asked him:
"Mr Okwonko, do you want this job so that you can collect bribes from scholarship applicants?"

Okwonko replied: "With all due respect, sir, even if that were my intention, you honestly expect me to say so!"

Or something to that effect.

Also reminds me of the question that people ask waiters at a restaurant: "Hizo samosa ni za leo?"

Unadhani kamu ni za juzi atakwambia?
Nothing is real unless it can be named; nothing has value unless it can be sold; money is worthless unless you spend it.
