Deutronomy Chapter 13 verse 5 - 11

If you were God, would you endorse that advice?

"One man gives freely, yet gains even more; another withholds unduly, but comes to poverty. A generous man will prosper; he who refreshes others will himself be refreshed." Rev Canon Karanja.

God was not being advised. God was giving commands via Moses.

What is worse?

1. God commanding that sin be punishable by
stoning to death?

or

2. God punishing the sinner in hell for all
eternity.

In 1 above there is the possibility of repentance.

In 2 above ...... well, take your pick.

BTW your signature......

is Proverbs 11:25

Sola Scriptura

In verse 12 to 18 of chapter 13 deuteronomy, God is advising the jews to attack the town and completely destroy it including livestock. Then you must pile all the plunder in the middle of the open square and burn it. Burn the entire town as a burnt offering to the lord your God.

That is exactly what I would do when am high on top grade green leaves. This God must have been from the stock of Rastafarian deities.

By they way, why would livestock be subjected to destruction although they were not part of the idol worship? Is that a just God giving such commands?

Read Deut 16 verse 18 - 20. Makes a lot of sense and is applicable in the modern day Judicially system in Kenya.

Chap 17 verse 1-7. I thought many christians get offended when they see muslims stoning one who has done wrong. Its good to know the holy bible condones stoning.

Deut 21 vesrse 18 - 21

This I would support for application among central kenya youth and kikuyu sons who have taken into imbibing morasses products and are generally stubborn, gluttonous and drunkards. It would improve the county very well.

Insurgent,

The stoning was applicable on if the whole community was righteous(Right before God). Therefore this law, was hardly put into effect.

How many societies who perform stoning today, can be described as righteous?

I like the part that says;"You must purge the evil from among you"

This is critical in understanding how God deals with evil.

A lee way was given, 'whoever has no sin cast the first stone'. No one has ever been able to. Anyone who does is a pretender.

So, what was the purpose of the command if it was not practical. This jewish god made satan and evil or allowed it to exist, so who is to blame when human beings commit evil, is it the maker of evil or the recipient? Remember, if you make cocaine, you are as bad as the user of cocaine.
