On the 33rd anniversary of Mzee Jomo Kenyatta’s death, his family has for the first time spoken out on the controversial issue of the land it owns and how it was acquired. Kenyatta’s daughter Christine has dismissed as misconceptions claims that the family had grabbed large tracts of land. The late President’s daughter says all tracts of land owned by the family were bought through bank loans.

Family cleansing itself in readiness for 2012?

Which banks financed the deals?

they forgot to state that the land was bought for as litle as 50 bob per acre and that the bank loans were not secured at all. The old mzee's name was all the security ever needed.

@Murenj,

Did Kenyatta default in paying the loans?

Many kenyans were so skeptical about the land transfer schemes then. The few who participated ended up having large chunks of land as there were no other takers.

Secondly, the last time The Standard mentioned 500,000 acres they were taken to court and asked to state those parcels equaling 500,000 acres
