No one ever got anywhere using herd mentality! It's not a time to run away but a time to slowly accumulate for as long as the recession/fears of recession hold. For us it's even juicier, what with looming elections, a weak KES, high interest rates, high inflation etc! If u can get KK, at sub 10 before 19th Aug with a div of 0.57, pick some few, HF at 17.50 with a div of 50cts, grab yourself a slice! You will have your cake and eat it! @SufficientlyP

Are we looking at the same n.s.e my friend? kk hasn't gone below 11.00 let alone 10.00. And you are posting this on today the day it goes ex after its been above 11.00 all this time. highly doubt in the time we have left until market close it will go there. First are you in your 20's, 30's, 40's or 50's. I think that will & should guide your risk apetite. I remember in Feb guys were still talking of accumulation, well the reality is the NSE index has dropped by 20% since then. We all know we are in the game to make money & not to fall in love, sit down & do your analysis of the exchange & you'll realise that our market is always up when foreigners come in & as it stands now most of them are liquidating their risky assets in all parts of the world & Kenya is not immune. I see 3200 by November maybe even earlier. Everday we see new lows thus accumulate wisely & always be ready to see your invesment go in the red in a way that even the dividends can't mitigate. Too bad, can't get KK below 9 cum div, but yes, xd its possible if the global markets continue plummeting! And it could even be next week! @SufficientlyP

NSE closes @3546. First time after many weeks of lower lows. Now we have the first lower high close and forming a hammer candle pattern pinned @3501 which was the low this week on Monday 15th. Last week NSE closed @3511 on Friday 12th. The bounce continues... $15/barrel oil... The commodities lehman moment arrives as well as Sovereign debt volcano!

Right now kenol is one of those stocks you lock away in ur closet and sit on a very FAT dividend until capital gains start coming in... As this already cheap stock becomes even cheaper next week, its time to continue buying.. Mark 12:29 Deuteronomy 4:16

I disdain those lines: "my broker told/called/emailed me" being made to feel "special"

Hope you are also looking at Centum also. The stock went as low as 15.90. But should wait after the bonus shares hit the market then dive in. Will the company profits be as affected as some insurance companies have been by the slump of the NSE? Well only 26% of its portfolio is in QPE. There is the cash from horton's Carbacid. 2 divestures by end of the financial year plus at least 1 acquision GOD BLESS YOUR LIFE

@youcan't I never invest in stocks with similar business model and except insurance jub and centum are both private equity firms in real estate and power generation.. That said, centum is dirt cheap so any longterm investor is bound to make a serious killing getting in now.. Theyve been diversifing out of the NSE but I dont know if their new projects have started to pay off in 2011 but there should be some serious gains on asset sales in 2011. Mark 12:29 Deuteronomy 4:16
