@Bkismat,
Scary but when the fear is all gone, I reason this way.
1.If the criminal entices many people at different ATMs, the camera will show different faces, perhaps at different ATMs and in quick succession..unless the ac. has only 30K and its all taken once.
2. Each of the faces will also be associeted with another transaction at the ATM before or after the fraudulent withdrawal. Unless the CID are extremely lazy, they will have to get another think coming their way.
3. Most ATM lounges are manned by CCTV cameras which will record the happenings like a movie..so unless this took place at one of those remote cubicles where only the ATM cam only snaps the face of each user, it should be pretty easy to solve. And again, I don't know if someone would convince me to get into that cubicle under the guise of helping him or her to use his/her own ATM.
But the stay safe tips are;
-where possible, make withdrawals at ATMs located in bank branches, there is always a guard in or near the lounge.
-If you are approached for help, motion the guard to provide the assistance..even if its being requested by an enticing woman.
-If you have to use the remote ATMs, usiingie kwa hiyo kabox if you do not feel safe enough...at least leave someone watching closely in the car or there should be at least some guys waiting to use the same in queue.
