With the entry of a Chinese no frills airline in the market later in the year and the subsequent launch of a low cost subsidiary by KQ in reaction to this entry..Flying Kisumu- Mombasa at less than 2k will be possible. Long distance busese...Kwisha

No airline would survive with less than 4k one way tickets NBO- MSA, let alone MSA-KSM.

Never say never with this Chings....They might surprise with a plane that uses air and emits A1 jet fuel.

@guka, never, not iu this life. I advice marex to get used to Chania shuttle. A brand new B737-800 consumes at least 2600 Litres of Jet A1 per hr. Give it 1:30 fm Ksm-Msa direct. 180 pax @ 2k each=360k one way trip. Less obscene tax, less fuel (3500 ltr x 70bob) 250k, less salaries, less maintenance....and pliz note, chinese wont beat western engineering technology in this century. NB-cheap doesnt mean high quality.

the 2k will only be enough for the airport tax...

The West is losing the airplane wars to the sudamericanos rather than the chinese - city hoppers use E 170/190

True @statM, bt game still young. I suspect Airbus will be the biggest loser-medium planes market. Embraer, CRJ n the Sukhoi-100 will cause a major market shake up. Embraer is already causing jitters. Please note, the E190 takes in approx 100pax. Not such a big margin of running cost savings; maybe initial fly-away cost..

After the Partnair accident of 1989, the US authorities discovered that even Air Force One was being fitted with fake spare parts from China and other countries.

Nobody is safe is the air!!

Airport port tax is around Shs. 2400/- return. Is the 2K inclusive of all taxes?
