There has sprung up many agencies in Kenya promising to give kenyans great jobs in the AUE and other gulf states.

True as we know, this has always ended tragically. Some have died while others have endured extreem conditions to get back to kenya.

Why has these agencies been left to operate freely.
The problem with the world is that the intelligent people are full of doubts while the stupid ones are full of confidence

It is modern day slavery but the most disturbing bit about it is that nobody says anything any more.

The middle eastern countries treat Africans like slaves. In face some of those Arabs really do believe that Africans are not human and are to be treated like slaves.

It's very disheartening to see how our brothers and sisters live in those countries but it's mostly because our leaders have failed them. If we had good governance and good leaders who create jobs for our youth they wouldn't need to leave the country and go yo be treated like slaves.

The Arabs know that our people are desperate and they take full advantage of that fact. You can tell as soon as you get to the airport that Africans are treated like 3rd class human beings. It's tough being a black person in this world. Maybe someday things will change but we really need to start speaking up and standing up for ourselves. Africans have to say enough is enough and fend for ourselves without taking any bullshit from anybody. That's the only way we will get respect.

@Kusadikika you're just like me. I mean once you see the source of the article, why would any sane person even continue reading! Satirical websites are just that: mockery, loaded with pretense, deceit, or hypocrisy.

To see @hamburglar fall for this shows he's not genuine in his sentiments.

Yes, I agree you cannot miss a mistreatment of workers, even here in Kenya, there are people who even burn their maids, or a maid raining hell on child... But now that seems ok because it is local. When it comes to abroad, it seems more touching when such occur. You will find a case of an Arab mistreating an African or Asian... and the whole world goes berserk. But when a Ugandan smashes a Kenyan child on floor, it just makes news here in Kenya and after that forgotten... I'm not saying this is nothing, but I'm saying this happens all over.

So we should fight for rights of foreigners in whichever country...

A Friend invited me for a cup of tea at his place. However, i didnt like how they treated their maid. She was burdened with cooking, taking care of the baby and serving guests. She appeared tired and fatiqued. Mind you the owner of the house is a pastor.I stayed long there and the lady couldnt go to bed unless the owner of the house went to bed. I said i will never visit that family again.

My point exactly. In every society, there is a black sheep. In the same way we could make an objective investigation into behaviour of this pastor's family, similarly to a family wherever in the world.

For example, if this is Pastor Mukiri, and he sells sex toys as we know, it would be very unfair say every Kikuyu pastor sells s*x toys...

And now these so-called Arabs or pastors who mistreat or even kill innocent human being are not good people. They are not representative of whole community.

You are never objective when anything related to Islam is discussed here. Your response is a classic "the same is done by other people".

But your supporting of the Arabs mistreatment of African workers which is well documented is a new low even for you.

The truth is that Arabs consider Africans as slaves to be exploited and treated as deserving of lower status. I don't know if you are an African Muslim or not but incase you are shame,,,shame,,,

If the arab slave traders would have gotten hold of him, they would have castrated him and sold him to slavery like they did to millions of africans, religion notwithstanding.

Africans are sooo HATED in the middle east you wonder how the arabs have a spokesman of wazua, even when there were stampedes in Mecca killing people, fingers were pointed at the 'Africans", even to date blacks in lamu call themselves "persians", if you call some fools like Makaburi "Muafrika", they hate you and spit on you, most "black" muslims in coast and the middle east even somali consider themselves "persians" e.t.c so as not to be associated with "Africans". Pure and simple, well known fact, any decorations ni uwongo!

Just because it's done all over (not true) does not make it OK for Arabs to treat Africans as slaves. There might be one or two isolated cases where in your words, a "Ugandan smashes a Kenyan child on the floor" but in the Arab world, a black person is overwhelmingly seen as a lesser human being. Even the more advanced and "progressive" Arab cities like Dubai treat Africans like slaves. As long as you have an African passport you are automatically relegated to a lesser being who is paid less, made to work more, not given same employment benefits extended to westerners and Arabs and shown no respect at all anywhere you go. We are not talking about an isolated incident like the one you mentioned, we are talking about a whole country's rules and regulations specifically crafted on how to unfairly treat black people. Laws that treat black people way more harshly than other races. Why the double standard? That's a clear indication that they consider black Africans inferior human beings and that's even if they consider us human beings in the first place. Like Obi says, you don't always have to defend Islam even when the evidence against some of your beliefs is there in plain sight for all to see. Sometimes you need to be objective and call a spade a spade, this religions stuff is not a competition. If something is wrong it's wrong. We need to seeking solutions to such indignities and not trying to defend the indefensible.

This is sad and the worst part is that it happens in a lot of households. Why some people think that househelps are not human beings is beyond me. Some people think that a househelp is to be worked to death just because they pay them that measly 7 or 8k a month. It's very sad and inhumane. I have seen it a few times too and it's disgusting. Maybe there needs to be some clear guidelines on the roles of a househelp.
