Congrats Dossy7 my advice is as they grow up remember they'll hear more of what you do than what you say so set a good example in actions as well as words.

The best gift you can give the young one is to ensure that when he grows up, he does not become a fan of the same EPL club as the dad.

Congrats Dossy7! If he is a boy, be sure to teach him to be a man. They boy child has largely been forgotten. Get a mature househelp, who is honest, uses logic and keenly observes the baby.
You are the largest billboard to the baby they quietly watch you and are likely to imitate what you do.
Feed him on a healthy diet, this junk business will leave you having to deal with issues of obesity, BP, diabetes etc.......
Enjoy fatherhood.
Lord, thank you!

And if she's a girl, keeper her far away from @Impunity's and @magigi's sons.

Congratulations to Mr. & Mrs Dossy, Can't wait to starting a similar thread God willing.

Meanwhile I feel the advice of pn quoted about is rather handy. What you do carries more weight than what you tell the Jnr.

Reminds me of a fellow who was so annoyed at his wife for not telling him that the son was 'chased' from school (after finding him at home) only to be told that he had already cleared form four!!!
