UK is becoming restive. Some dude was killed in Tottenham and 2 days in a row riots have broken out since Saturday. Remember Tunisia...?

Equity Futures at a glance. Sea of reds everywhere... Dow likely to close below 11000. All major euro markets down 3% plus - the ECB morning bond buying spree has now faded. If US markets close 2 - 3% down, Asia will continue the selling until someone says something reassuring to calm the markets...

Update

Greece market - sub 1000 level tomorrow - this one has been a bloodbath since Feb.

Meanwhile Greece's securities regulator bans short selling starting tomorrow for the next two months. Desperate times call for desperate measures indeed...

@Kenyainvestor - maybe u should ask dstv for a refund. After the London protests back in May due to austerity measures this thing is threatening to tip! Remember in April a lot of discontent was also thrown at the royal wedding... I'm seeing a Tunisia in Europe.

In Asia, HSI is down more than 6% now below 20000 handle (@young hope you got out or playing very defensive - short selling). Kospi outgunning all, down 7% plus!? Definitely Europe will open with sellside pressure.

Eh, NSE will definitely close below 3600 today as spooked foreigners exit. Those still stuck in, hold on tight i.e. those speculators with huge holdings. Trying to sell with anaemic demand will hurt or worse trap you even further down. All my fast trades now cancelled until things cool down...

The United States: Timing the Path to Unrest

Dear Friends,

Let us begin with cycle analysis by Martin Armstrong. The 224 Year Cycle of Political Change in the United States peaked in 1637 with the revolution in England to end torture from the infamous Star Chamber. Adding 224 to 1637 brings us to 1861, the upheaval of the American Civil War.

The Cycle points to 2013 (1861+112+31.4+8.6) as beginning of political unrest in the United States feeding off the 8.6 year political down-cycle in Iran/Persia and Europe. Tremors are already being felt.

The fate of Britain is closely tied with Europe, austerity, growing public sector layoffs and the resultant civil unrest for a duration of 8.6 years from 2009 to 2018.

Of interest, today's (June 30th) British public sector strike is 85 years (8.6*10) after the 1926 strikes:

"In Britain, strikes still plagued the nation. Coal miners, who throughout history seem to have struck every time they have had a chance, went on another rampage. Many in the U.S. were looking for coal exports to pick up sharply as they had in previous years, exporting nearly four million tons of coal to Britain. But this time the Brits really got out of hand. The strikers tried to effect a naval blockade. The Royal Navy was called out with trained guns ready and ordered to blow the strikers out of the water if they did not give up the effort." Greatest Bull Market in History by Martin Armstrong, pg. 119

In addition, they are taking place 17.2 days (8.6*2) after 2011.45 (June 13/14th 2011) on the Economic Confidence Model.

Coincidence?

You expect anything constructive from them?.They will only spook the markets more just like Obama did yesterday and erase the gains in the US markets today.I see Europe has broken the downward trend.

If they do this meeting right though they have few options then the current sell off will end immediately..

But if they get this wrong... Eg (announcing QE3) then we will know what it means to bleed...

I'm anxiously waiting.. Sad
