@GG - I will not comment on the share price BUT the EPS will be much higher than your full-year EPS of 0.84 [I will venture 2x]

Ver unlikely that 2H will be better than 1H but 1H had unique factors...

If you discount the Half year results by 25% for the second half you still have an EPS of 2.3 meaning one can get their hands in kenol at a P/E of around 5..

I can almost bet these valuations cannot last for much longer.

What then does that portend for 2012 1H?

Better than 2H 2010 last year but not as good as 1H 2011. Overall, my range is 1.80-2.00 as full year EPS. No complaints!

I'm talking about 1H 2012

As you say that 1H 2011 had "unique factors", will KK be able to match those profits in 1H 2012?

@GG - I have no idea. My crystal ball doesn't go out that far!
Nevertheless, as a well-run firm with a great management I think they will do OK.

The 2 yr T-Bond yields about 10% less W/Tax = 8.5%

The current price is 11.50 & the dividend for 2011 will probably be 1/- less 5% w/tax = 0.95 = 8.25%

In 2012, I would be very happy to get 8.5% in dividends + there is a 'retained' portion that should manifest AFTER the elections. Assuming we don't kill each other.

Expected! But the mwananchi wont understand why... Eventually the streets will get busy if the same happens in September... I wonder how gubberments will stem off the coming global unrest fallout...

In the same way we are shocked because of how low the other counters are going, when kk goes ex-div and the n.s.e is still in the current state. Many will be shocked just how far it will fall. I'll be waiting for it down there, so to speak.

I would love to buy it cheaper! I am holding off buying KK for now. I am waiting for it to drop! I hope it does coz leo there was a line at my KK for the 4/- Deal Poa. The Shell station about 300 metres away had NO cars!

Anyone with stats? @the deal, @VVS?

Volume b4 & after the "deals poa" on different days of the week?

What is the margin on sales/litre?

I would really like to know this coz I have a feeling that 70% of sales (maybe even 90%) are on Tues/Fri/Sunday.

A good portion on Kcard... upto 5bob discount on regular pump price? What does this discount cost KK?

that's misleading. I have a K-Card and there was no deposit i paid. the 3k you give upon registration is loaded in the card and you use it to the last penny. maybe what you would need to do is kasirika and fuel all the remaining money on a Sunday for 5 bob less..

I'm reading the Kenol Kobil Commercial paper prospectus:

http://kenolkobil.com/im.../kenol%20commercial.pdf

It says KK currently has a combined workforce of 513,530 employees spread across Kenya and the regional subsidiaries - pp 11. Is this true?

Shame on you
This could be a printing error. Staff should either be 513 or 530.

on pp 14 it also indicates number of stations as 226 238 which could also not be true. Total Network of 393 less 155 in Kenya gives a balance of 238. They didn't proof read their doc.!
