Half Time

Man City 2:0 Man Utd

Lescott and Dzeko with the goals.

Waiting for the second half...

Man Utd win the Charity Shield!

What a grave mistake by Kompany to gift Nani the 3rd goal!

Although my team WON, I'm happy with the way the played. Just to paraphrase @TAZ. He he he.

Seriously though, Man U were far much superior to Shitty and outplayed them through out. Noisy neighbours, Shhhhhhh!

That Man U second goal, out of this world! I can't wait for the EPL to begin!

The game was sooo interesting..Man U was the better side but Man City also showed they are serious contenders. I think Man City's level of maturity is causing panic in LONDON

Best Charity Shield game in a loooong time.

One comment I really loved; "Manchester City are at Wembley for the third time this year. Manchester United never leave!"

City took the lead for granted and were punished by the young red squad. Congrats manchester united for bagging your last trophy this season.

Kompany is wishing he would have made a difference and head to penalties. De gea is cursing when he watches on video the second goal.

I want to hear what @Taz thinks of the 2nd Man Utd playstation goal...

What really encourgaed me is the way Cleverly, Wellbeck, Smalling and even (can't believe am saying this)Johnny Evans stepped up to the plate...those were solid performances. That striker position is going to be very competitive. De Gea compensated for his errors in the 2nd half with two fine saves.

All is well at United but we still need a creative midfielder if we're going to match Barca

De Gea was nervous especially in the first half. I can't really blame him. Your first competitive game being a derby in a cup final (of sorts) is not the easiest thing to do. It is especially worse for a goal keeper because any mistake you make will be magnified and replayed from different angles over and over. Add his age into the mix and you'll get the full picture. Second half he was okay. I hope he gets over his nerves sooner rather than later.

Nani, Nani, Nani!!! He doesn't want to leave the champions and he is not about to sit around and watch his position being taken. The lad played his heart out. My prediction. We will see a far much improved Nani this season. Better than last season! He knows his position is under real threat. Any small blunder and he warms the bench. We have a great season ahead.

That goal was too exquisite it left even Arsenal's Mutua speechless!!! I'm sure he's still trying to look for what to say. I guess by tomorrow he will have found something - however incoherent - to say.

Our nosiy neighbours remain just that, noisy neighbours: With Jones, Evans, Cleverly, Welbeck, young Smalling all gracing the pitch against their expensively assembled squad and the result a win for united, priceless I tell you!!!

The second ManU goal is what Arsenal have been working on for the last six years but they have not been able to pull it off. Literally walking the ball in. Brilliant!

"Most encouraging for Ferguson will have been the fact that the oldest man in the side who played most of the second half was Ashley Young, at 26. The others were De Gea, Chris Smalling (21), Jones (19), Evans (24), Rafael (21), Anderson (23), Cleverley (21), Nani (24), Rooney (25) and Danny Welbeck (20). And they were still missing Javier Hernandez, 23.

What riches for United fans. What a testimony to the way Ferguson keeps rebuilding. In the blink of an eye, he seems to have moved on from one dynasty - that of the retired or departed Neville, Scholes, Brown, Van der Sar and O'Shea - to another."

It was a nice goal....kind of what Arsenal fans are used to every season, the Perfect goal. The league starts this weekend, no more friendlies and useless matches.
