Guys i am from Mombasa and i am working. I have saved around 500,000 and to make ends meet i would like to do something on the side. Please advice me.

Why don't you put your money in Treasury bills. You will get good returns currently. Just go to CBK in Mombasa and open a CDSC a/c with them and get started.

Assuming that its money you afford to part with for a while I would put it in a plot in a place with potential of generating rent income.
I would then think of developing the rental houses. Infact, if you have a plot with a title deed, City council and Nema approval you can approach a bank to finance construction then they will repay themselves from the rent. ( I once talked to KCB and Equity they had such facilities) Terms and conditions apply. The rental house can then generate money for other ventures and if its convenient for you,you can save on rent. Assuming you live in a rented house.
