And now RVR is having a 15b loan to upgrade the system. 7.5billion addition from the current shareholders including citadel who are on a 25 years ownership deal.

I hope it will be a reality as they have been planning for years.
Kenya deserves it. Hope they will link up with Kampala ?

@Sober: The sub-station has been stalled for the past two months. Hope this is the jab it needed to continue.

Equity is one of the financiers (2B). Finally the bank is now breaking into corporate lending, another plus for member

I dont think you can call it that(a plus) at the moment unless the Gov guaranteed the loan.

The reason being TCL,centum and other shareholders have pumped several billions to date and most of the cash has either been written off or turned into equity.Take for instance Centum it issued a loan of several million then they were forced to turn the loan into equity which they sold at a loss eventually.

B4 RVR turns around it will need such a huge investment that is akin to setting up A new railway infrastructure.

Recent results showed I think 60M in EBITDA,Net earning would have been several millions in the Red due to its High Interest, depreciation and amortization costs.

@2012.what! The thing just touched the 30's region, i am seeing it rally to 30.00 per share by September then stay there because of the market forces and lack of volumes.

Equity Bank always has a way of making firsts where other banks would not dare go; and so far this kind of strategy has taken them to position one in the Kenyan banking industry. I think JM knows what he is doing; and knows a number of shareholders well. With Citadel on board, who are more accomplished investors compared to the former investors from SA, l think RVR at last has a real chance to begin to turn things around. This is however not to downplay the time and capex needed to make it a profitable modern railway operator.
