Glad to see the inherent momentum our own banks are doing. Barclays has truly stagnated. For how long though?

If the once efficient Barclays is being compared with Kcb, truely times have changed.

I think The CEO has assured the investors in regards to the speculation of a right Issue.

Quote:
Muriuki dismissed speculation the bank was looking to raise capital by going to the market.

"We have no plans for a rights issue. We will use retained profits to sustain our balance sheet," he added.

Wazua, please modify title to include another bank - NBK - since they are all in the party together.

I got email from broker saying operating income increased by 26%, profit before tax was 1.1b (8% below last year) arising due to revaluation of government securities.

No fanfare, No dividend, blah blah, government still in charge.

Glad l jumped out of NBK quickly and early even though for a loss. It was a bad move to buy. Cut my losses at 2/- per share. I'd be grinding and gnashing teeth now.

NBK is so over reliant on loans and GSec, with very little coming from other incomes, this always causes problems when interest rates and inflation rise.

The management should diversify its income streams, full yr result will definitely be disappointing if they maintain the same investment strategy.
