True.Consumers pay for part fuel used by diesel generators.....And now that Aggreko is out setting up plants in Muhoroni (30 MW) to boost national output,August bill will be higher per unit by 85 cents or thereabout.....Ni kung'oa relismile .

@>following this lead; add 85 cts to KSh 7.23(on Jul bill) gives us 8.08. So it's sadly true.

This is Fuel Cost Charge which varies depending on the amount of thermal generation( Elec generation using diesel) done in a particular month. Hydro generation is not sufficient and now worsened by the drought, thus the reason for the thermo alternative. Considering the current price of diesel and high inflation which is another cost factor in our electricity bills, we will pay dearly for these two.

Guys, let's give KPLC a break, if they announce power rationing, we complain, when they source for an alternative though expensive, we complain.

Since we are not able to be shareholders of these IPPS, the only option is to be a shareholder of Kenya Power and at the least, get a share of their profits through dividends....
