so in the opinion of the brains sitting in the mpc, surging inflation is not a risk to economic growth? the solution is to keep printing money to ramp up econ growth?

I've given up on the central planners... Fate will deal them a tremendous blow soon and they'll exit/resign on their own pressure...

Food riots cannot be teargassed... Food riots cannot be tamed by aggression... Coming soon...

Its not a terrible figure considering what's taking place in the country.. I was expecting a 20+%..

These are very good signs going forward..

Kenya's inflation has not faired terribly against some of its peers in Africa

Uganda 18.9%
Tanzania 11%
Egypt 12%
Nigeria 10.5%
Ghana 8%
Burundi 10%

I dont know why Kenyans imagine they are immune from global macroeconomics

Massaged numbers aka hedonics... China is using the same means as well as US as well as Europe. It is a scam and a half this inflation model system, just like the global monetary system...

Expected a much higher rate - around 18%; seeing that l feel worse worse off than June. But then again, l dont know how the hell its calculated, so l kind of have to agree with their 15.53%. Hoping there will be a significant DROP in fuel prices this time round, which will cause fuel levy to drop and contain escalating transportation costs and commodity prices.

Fuel - hapana. This will not drop anytime soon. I thot I read something to do with a burst petroleum pipeline in KE last week and some fuel was lost. That too will be levied quietly into the price. Expect it...

Any one have a clue about the inflation in the various parts of the country (perhaps on a county-by-county basis?). I checked opendata.go.ke but it lacks that dataset. Where can one get that info?
