He is very connected by the nature of his job. If you want him to state officially no maize has been stolen, you better make sure he gets a share of the maize. If you want him to state that the government had nothing to do with the missing oil, you had better make sure he gets some of that oil. He also has to be in contact with the president. There are some ministers - yes, ministers, not assistants - who can't secure an appointment with baba Jimmy. In such cases, Alfie comes in handy in delivering messages - in exchange of some favours - money, contracts for some shadowy companies etc.
And of course his job doesn't require one to think. Try "not thinking" for a couple of weeks and you will definitely get fatter!
Never count on making a good sale. Have the purchase price be so attractive that even a mediocre sale gives good returns.
